Little Red Light Theatre

Producer

Little Red Light is co-founded by Michael Blatt and David Carl with a mission to create an intimate theatre experience that is tailored for the smart NYC theatre goer. Our focus is to produce small, noncommercial musicals and plays that are an alternative to traditional theatre. We hope to shine light on the Queer/Jewish American experience. Our name was inspired from our first show Hello Again which became the inspiration for our aesthetic design of the show. A red light in a window has traditionally been a signal to tell people that this is a house of ill repute, but it also signaled that it was a safe place for artists and people on the fringe of society; a place for “unconventional” people to gather. Our Little Red Light is a reminder to our audiences that they are about to see theatre in a safe space and they will see art that will challenge them to expand their minds and give them an alternative theatrical experience from commercial theatre.
